SIBLINGS:

  • Siblings of an aborted child sometimes develop survivor syndrome like that developed when a sibling is lost through other means, such as illness or accident. They sometimes develop phobic reactions.

FRIENDS:

  • Friends who know of the abortion sometimes struggle with what they subsequently observe in their friend. Sometimes the friend withdraws or engages in serious risk-taking behavior that is unlike previous activity. If the friend participated in some way in encouraging or supporting the decision to have the abortion, they may carry a burden of concern for their friend years afterward.
COUSINS, AUNTS AND UNCLES:
  • Sometimes a sense of loss is felt in these people following an abortion. Concern is expressed for those whom they love who have gone through an abortion loss. This page is dedicated in a special way to my niece Maria and my nephew Mark. Were you here today, our family would be richer. Our family's experience has caused us to grieve for those who touched our lives for only a short time.

We are here for you! You may contact us through e-mail or you can call us at 1-800-5WE-CARE. We'd love to hear from you!
